TRIP TO VIRGINIA

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL AND EASTER

Morgan and I flew with my parents to Washington D.C. to visit my brother's family. We had an amazing time. I was able to get some RR with all the extra hands around to help out with Morgan and was able to avoid the stomach bug...Morgan, Dana, and Grammy weren't so lucky. Morgan had one episode of vomiting (all over me this time) but was fine by the afternoon...again Dana and Grammy weren't so lucky. Despite the sickness we still had an exciting trip. Morgan loved playing with all of Regan's toys (Regan is Morgan's cousin) and even made a 'push cart' out of one of the stools in the living room. We went shopping at the outlet mall and got some really good deals for both Morgan and the next baby. We also went to Mount Vernon and had lunch in the 'main house' where the staff dress in colonial outfits. I had cherry pie to celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival even though I found out that cherries bloom on a different type of tree-any excuse for eating pie works for me! The first day we tried to go see the cherry blossoms turned into more of a driving tour as we searched for parking for over an hour. It all worked out because it forced us to go back via the Metro on the day the Festival was in full swing...I can now say I have experienced the Cherry Blossom Festival! Kindell (Morgan's other cousin) was able to go with us to the festival and she really enjoyed helping out with Morgan. We also went to Chuck E Cheese's with Grammy, Papa, and Kindell. Morgan loves the little rides that cost a token to go up and down. She also loved watching all the other kids running around. We had good intentions of having amazing 'professional' pictures taken with the Cherry Blossoms but we ended up getting what we paid for...OK pictures, outside, at a good price. We celebrated Easter morning before flying home. Morgan loved her Easter basket and we had an Easter Egg hunt for Kindell.
